Honda’s June 2025 Two-Wheeler Sales Fall to 3.88 Lakh, Down 20% from Last Year

The sales of Honda 2W dropped drastically in the domestic markets and the company has recorded high demand worldwide

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) have released their sales data of June 2025. Last month the company had sold 4.29,147 units among which 3,88,812 units were sold in the domestic markets and 40,335 units were sold abroad.

Compared to the period between June 2024 and June 2025, Honda 2W sales reduced in the home market by 19.43 percent to a sale of 3,88,812 units in June 2025 as compared to June 2024 sales of 4,82,597 units. It was a volume de-growth of 93,785 units. Exports were flashing good performance by 11.42% YoY change and 40,335 units exported out of the same, 36,202 in the previous year in December, 2021. There was a 17.28 percentage negative impact on overall sales because 4,29,147 units have been sold, as compared to 5,18,799 units sold in the month of June, 2024.

Honda 2W saw a sharp decline in sales in a month-on-month (MoM) basis too. This represented a 6.82 percent decrease in the domestic volumes in terms of the 4,17,256 units sold in May 2025 and the 15.72 percent decrease in exports of the 47,859 units that were shipped in May 2025 against 40,335 units that were shipped in the previous month. The overall sales therefore decreased by 7.73 percent, MoM compared to 4,65,115 units in May 2025.

Lower domestic demand and improved international attraction have been reported in the Q1 FY26 (April June 2025). Domestic sales of Honda 2W also reduced by 13.10 per cent to 12,28,961 units in this period, which is less than 14,14,232 units that were sold in the same three months of the last year. The continuous demand in the world market exhibited a year-to-date (YTD) increment of 5.18 percent to 1,46,159 units in the April-June 2025 as compared to 7,199 units higher than what was sent out, i.e. 1,38,960 units in the 2024 period. The YTD sales of 13,75,120 units was 11.46 percent lower as compared to 15,53,192 units sold in the corresponding three month period of previous year.

The firm has introduced a new motorcycle into its super bike brand. The XL750 Transalp that followed in June at a price of Rs 10,99,990 (ex-showroom Gurugram). Honda BigWing dealerships are opening it up to bookings, with deliveries beginning later this month. Honda also launched the BaaS Lite Plan of Activa e under which individuals can subscribe to the plan on Rs 678 per month so that the EV becomes affordable.
