Most
affordable bikes with dual channel ABS
These are the least expensive bikes in the country with dual-channel ABS, with a starting price of 160cc to the maximum of 250cc.
As rains starts to lash across the country, there is no better moment than having the safety net of two-channel ABS. Beneficial in both wet and dry, dual-channel ABS makes sure that no lock up of either wheel on the motorcycle occurs when brakes are applied hard and the motorcycler comes to a controlled stop in any condition. The single-channel ABS opens in a single delivery, and it functions on the front wheel, and hence you can lock the rear wheel even after applying hard brake thus the rear wheel is locked and this destabilizes the motor bike. Buyers in our market (where the use of rear-brakes is almost automatic), and more so those who happen to be the commuting populace, cannot dispense with dual-channel ABS as a mere safety feature, but a pre-condition. Provided that safety ranks high in your priority list, the following are six of the cheapest bikes available in the market today that receive dual-channel ABS.
Bajaj Pulsar NS200
Rs 1.52 lakh
The first one on this list is the oldest NS sibling the NS200 Pulsar. It provides everything the smaller, NS160 has to offer, only with a more powerful water-cooled 200cc (cc) engine. This goes by far the fastest bike on this list (it is also the same performance as the N250, at 24.5 hp) and also the only one that is liquid-cooled. The bike gets 2-channel ABS as standard and is available at Rs 1.52 lakh (the ex-showroom price in Delhi).
TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Rs 1.49 lakh
The Apache RTR 200 4V is never short of features and besides the dual-channel ABS, it also gets three riding modes, fully digital instrumentation with Bluetooth connection, crash alert system, adjustable levers, and adjustable suspension. It has a dual-channel ABS as standard and the RTR 200 4V costs Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). TVS recently launched a new top-spec model too with USD fork and reprofiled handlebar and priced it at Rs 1.54 lakh.
Bajaj Pulsar N250
Rs 1.44 lakh
The N250 offers the torque rich experience due to the oil cooled engine as compared to the liquid cooled engine in the NS range. That makes it a superior companion in non-strenuous situations. Dual-channel ABS is stock and the N250 is less expensive at Rs 1.44 lakh than some other small displacement two-wheelers in this list.
Bajaj Pulsar NS160
Rs 1.39 lakh
The second bike in the list is a 160cc too; the Bajaj Pulsar NS160. The ride on this Pulsar is slightly sportier too with a perimeter frame, an upside-down fork, raised clip-on handlebars, etc, and it also has a more aggressive design. This NS line-up does feel a bit older however and the likes of new-gen Pulsars (such as the N160) feel a tad smoother. The NS160 retails at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.39 lakh (Delhi), and has dual-channel ABS as standard.
TVS Apache RTR 160 2V
Rs 1.34 lakh
The smallest Apache is the newest company to this list the RTR 160 2V. Recently it has been revised to meet the new stricter norms of OBD2B. In conjunction with this, TVS has also given safety by equipping the Apache RTR 160 with the dual-channel ABS. It should be pointed out, however, that the dual-channel ABS is exclusive to the top-spec model that costs Rs 1.34 lakh.
Bajaj Pulsar N160
Rs 1.33 lakh
The cheapest bike on this list happens to be a Bajaj product, and the list will also remain dominated by the world fast Indian. This is a witness to the measures put in place by the company to commoditize the technology and meet the masses. The Pulsar N160 will allow you to dual-channel ABS at the lowest price of Rs 1.33 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
