Top 5 underrated bikes between Rs 2-3 lakh
These are the bikes under 2-3 lakhs price segments that should be able to sell more
This is the continuation of our first write up on the best under-rated bikes India below 2-3 lakh. As before, these are a list of bikes that prove to be quite more stunning than they sell, and we shall start at the cheapest one.
1. Suzuki V-Strom 250 (Rs 2.16 lakh)
Available in one variant and three colour
Suzuki V-Strom SX is the least expensive model in the list and among the oldest as well. It is recently revised to comply with the OBD 2B standards, but other than that it remains unchanged since its introduction in 2022. The best features of V-Strom are that its oil cooled, 249cc has sufficient riding capacity on highways besides being good motorcycle to ride in the city. Its ergonomics are very comfortable and it has comfortable seating position and overall comfy. Lacks long travel suspension and the seat is slightly tall, otherwise, there is little that can hold back this bike, and as a budget road tourer, it stands out as an ideal one.
2. Jawa 42 FJ (Rs 2.1-2.2 lakh)
Available in one variant and six colourways
The new Jawa 42 FJ brings in a perceptible gain in the areas that comprise overall quality and riding manners. Its new liquid cooled engine of 334cc is smooth, tractable and sounds good whereas better cooling contributes to making city riding comfortable. The bike is also good to drive and you will have joy going up and down a winding road. Classic Legends motorcycles have incorporated something new in the 42 Fj and it is one of their finest products.
3. Husqvarna 250/401 (Rs 2.23- 2.97 lakh)
250 and 401 available in one colour each
There are two Husqvarna bikes that will be included in this list. One of them is the Vitpilen 250 that is based on the KTM 250 Duke and the other one being the Svartpilen 401 based on the 390 Duke. The two bikes introduce their own Swedish flavor and that in itself is worth the reason to look at them instead of the same KTMs. The fact that these two have even lower price as opposed to those in Austria and also that they even offer more comfortable sitting positions is a factor. This is very relevant with taller riders because the Gen 3 KTMs are smaller regarding the sitting area as compared to the Gen 2. Besides the cosmetic differences, the Husqvarna motorcycles are mechanically largely identical to their KTM relatives and are also marketed via the same dealer network
4. Harley Davidson X440 (Rs 2.39- Rs 2.79 lakh)
Available in three trim levels with a total of six colours
The first product of the marriage between Hero and Harley Davidson is called the Harley-Davidson X440. It has a funky 440cc oil cooled engine with acceptable power, lots of torque, and sweet sound. The Harley too possesses a pretty good chassis which provides a fairly good combination of handling and rider accommodation. The availability of the bike and the fact that the design is not to everyone lifts the taste is that which has hindered the harley in the Indian market so far. But alone the motorcycle is capable of performing better and so is the case with its sibling platform, the Hero Mavrick 440
5. Honda CB300R (Rs 2.4 lakh)
Available in one trim and two colours
The last motorcycle on this list is another Honda, but this time in the 300cc displacement range, the CB300F which made it to our earlier list of underrated bikes under 2 lakhs. Honda CB300R shares a similar name but it is nothing more closer to the CB300F as it is more performance-oriented. The low weight figure almost 30 kilos less than that of its direct competitor in the market, the Triumph Speed 400 makes up the USP of this bike. That not only assists the Honda to do better than you would have expected with its 31hp power, but it is also loads of fun to ride. The initial high pricing was one of the reasons the bike had failed to pick-up but a Rs 2.4 lakh ex-showroom will make the CB300R pretty attractive.
